All the drunk drivers need to go into politics so they can get away with driving while intoxicated. This guy did and might get away with it.
MADISON, Wis. -- A state lawmaker charged three times with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is asking his colleagues not to take any disciplinary action against him.A committee that's been formed to consider whether to expel state Rep. Jeffrey Wood plans to hold a public hearing on Wednesday. The committee is also considering the potential for lesser punishment such as a reprimand against the independent who represents a district in northwestern Wisconsin. In a resolution released on Tuesday, Wood recounts a series of lawmakers who have been charged with a range of crimes dating back to the 1940s. He said the Legislature took no action against them, and shouldn't discipline him, either.Wood, a former Republican, suggests he is being treated differently because he is an independent.
