who is Renner trying to fool?

I am an employee of Adams County and given the current Sheriff's race I think there are some items off great concern that need to be disclosed to the public! Please the only reason I am using the name "JJ" is because I am afraid some of the items that I will disclose could result in retaliation against me.

There are three candidates running for Adams County Sheriff and I am not here to campaign for one individual but there are some statements being made by the current Sheriff Renner that are not true!

Budget Truths:

Sheriff Renner states he has went well under budget in the last two years. What he isn't saying is that the budget cut out Deputy training, extra patrol for holiday weekends such as 4th of July, firearm training (twice in 4 years), and regular overtime. There have been several occasions that the entire county has had only two uniformed county officers on duty, at administrations approval. How is one supposed to be confident and proficient in something they barely do? How can the citizens feel safe knowing their officers are not proficient in shooting a gun?
Overtime and Training:
Renner states in his accomplishments that "Overtime reductions. Sheriff managed to decrease the department overtime to a point that in 2008 the department actually paid out less in overtime dollars than in 1999. The main reasons in the reduction being oversight and accountability."

Sheriff Renner did not reduce the overtime budget by any act of his own. This was done only due to the hard work, research and diligence of the Sheriff's Department labor unions. The members of the patrol union researched and crunched the numbers and subsequently showed the county how a switch from the old 6-2,6-2,5-3 (days worked-days off) schedule to a 12 hour schedule would save the county money. This is where the overtime savings came from. This schedule was being researched and discussed by the union when Sheriff Renner was a union member. At that time Deputy Renner was the most vocal person AGAINST the 12 hour schedule, often literally screaming at other union members that dared to disagree with him. The patrol officer union's switch to this schedule was preceded by the jail officers who had switched to this schedule a couple of years earlier. The fact that Sheriff Renner is now trying to claim that HE is the reason for the overtime savings is a farce and slap in the face to the men and women of the union that worked so hard to get the county to agree to a schedule switch.

There are Deputy's that haven't qualified with their firearms in two years because administration is only allowing firearm training every other year. (this used to be every 6 months). How is someone supposed to be proficient in something they are not trained and tested on? There is relevant training that many officers have applied for but have been denied on numerous occasions because of the cost (Why did you give back $500,000?) Officers are only offered to go to free training. And as the saying goes- "You get what you pay for." The County no longer has a SWAT team and the Sheriff relies on surrounding counties for help. But when those same counties need help, such as the Lake Delton flood, the Sheriff refused to send our officers because it would be on overtime. Do you remember the missing autistic boy in Wood County that went missing and was found dead approximately 3 miles outside the Adams County line? Darrell Renner did not offer any assistance because of overtime. What would you want, if your child went missing? Money isn't everything.

Equipment?:

Sheriff Renner claims he has deferred new equipment purchases though one purchase he has never deferred is new vehicles for he and his Command Staff. In four years in office Sheriff Renner has had 5...FIVE!!! different vehicles. The only one that wasn't brand new was the first one which had belonged to Sheriff Sindelar. Sheriff Renner has spent more than $100,000 on new vehicles for HIMSELF in his 3 years and 8 months in office.

Fiscally Responsible?:

Renner states in his accomplishments "And again be fiscally responsible with tax payer money."

~ So buying 4 new cars in 3 years 8 months is being fiscally responsible? Hiring three office working supervisors while eliminating three street patrolling deputies is fiscally responsible? Allowing your Chief Deputy to spend $20,000 from the office supply budget to sound proof his office is fiscally responsible?

~ Utilization of inmate labor. Department saved Approximately $10,000 in painting of inside of jail by using inmates rather than a hired contractor. The inmates have been used to paint the jail long long before Sheriff Renner was in office. But as he likes to do Sheriff Renner is claiming credit for something that was the idea of someone else

Project Life Saver:

He put in effect Project Life Saver, a quick tracking bracelet worn by a person with Alzheimer's or is autistic to locate them in the event they wonder off. There are currently 7 children and 4 adults who are in the program. -Stated in Renner's Accomplishments-

Sheriff Renner's only involvement in this program was agreeing to provide support after it was in place. A private citizen did ALL OF THE research and legwork setting this program up and the fact that Sheriff Renner is now attempting to claim credit for it as appalling. This is a wonderful program which Sheriff Renner is attempting to use as a political tool when he in fact has nothing to do with it now or in setting it up.
K-9 Officer and employee relationships:

Renner claims in his accomplishments that he "Placed a Caine handler officer on a shift to better use the dogs broad range of training to deter drug use in Adams County. The K-9 officer, Crag Orlowski also received an award for being Caine of the year in Wisconsin".

Sheriff Renner has so little respect for his officers that he cannot be bothered to spell his name right? The officers name is CRAIG ORLOWSKI. (Also it's Canine; I'm not quite sure what a Caine is) Deputy Orlowski is on his current shift because HE felt it would be beneficial so HE proposed this schedule change to Sheriff Renner who, after getting permission from Chief Deputy July, agreed to allow Deputy Orlowski to work it. Once again, Sheriff Renner claiming credit for something that SOMEONE ELSE did or in this case and idea someone else came up with!

The Sheriff's open door policy is a joke. When it comes to the public and the employees. Your lucky if he even knows your first name. EIGHT officers left in Sheriff Renner's first year in office, and at least that many will leave if he wins a second term.

Other Agencies:

Renner boasts that he has been able to "Build a good working relationship with the other two law enforcement agencies in the county. Foster the sharing of information and resources to reduce the overall crime index in the county" in his accomplishments.
There are FIVE law enforcement agencies in Adams County. They are; The Wisconsin State Patrol, The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, City of Adam's Police Department, City of Wisconsin Dells Police Department and the Town of Rome Police Department. If Sheriff Renner doesn't even know how many agencies there are in Adams County how can he build a good working relationship with them?

After reading this please go to his Facebook page and ask his reaction to these statements. Thank you.
