I give up on that pine i cut this summer and started burning pine i cut last winter and wow what a difference.It don't last like a good seasoned oak but i do get some really nice coals from it.I fill it with pine once a day.I should run out by Christmas and by then it will be time to turn up the water temperature and burn pine.I usually run the water temp about 150 to 160 but when i go to oak i go to 170 or close to 180.
I have 3 pine trees to cut up at the neighbors but it is buried with snow now,maybe if i get Dads snowmobile running i could use my BBQ sled to haul it home but there is no big hurry i won't need it till next Fall
