3 Days & 152 Miles

Friday we left the house at 6 and got almost to Wisconsin Rapids and the light came on my head"i didn't put the pin in the trailer"Shoot! So we got digging around in the truck and found one so we stopped in the Rapids and put the pin in.We got to Rock Dam at 8:30.By then it was starting to get dark.Got the tent up in no time and used my quad to run my air pump for the air mattress.Funny thing about that was,we pumped the air mattress up outside the tent and it was way bigger than the door way.We had a hell of a time squeezing that big mattress in a tent that was almost the same size as the tent.

Saturday was a long day.We ate a nice breakfast and i unloaded the quad and we took off.We had a nice ride to Fairchild, had trouble figuring out which way to go and Fairchild was the 1st time we got wet.We finally figured out where to go and we stopped and rested at the gas station.I bought an Eau Claire County map and i made the decision to ride farther and we rode to Osseo Wisconsin. That was nice.A little ways out of Fairchild the trail turned into an old Rail Road bed.Smooth as a babies bottom.Within no time we were in Osseo and as soon as we got into the city limits it started raining, just like Fairchild.I wasn't going to fill up with gas but Tracie said "you better"

We headed back towards Fairchild and i got the big brain storm to ride towards Augusta Wi.All was good for a while even though it was all blacktop roads.I looked at the map a 100 times and it didn't tell me what roads i should be on and the next thing we knew we were in Augusta. We drove back and forth a couple times and i told Tracie"this isn't right"so we turned around and headed back to where i seen another route for quads.Sure shit that was the way we should of went, back on track.we though we were cause we rode quite a ways and we came out to Hwy 12 & 27 and the map showed to go straight. What?Straight!there is no road that goes straight just trees.Tracie looked over in the ditch and noticed there were quads that have gone through the tall grass and brush.Screw it! we will try it,it will either end up in someones back yard and it will be part of the trail.Lucky us!it was the trail. We drove and drove and after getting wet a couple more times and riding 92 miles we were back.

When we got back and sat on the picnic table it sarted raining again so we sat in the tent and 3 hours later we woke up so we walked up to the closest pub and had us a bud light. We slept like babies that night.

Sunday we rode a short ride.I think it was a 6 mile loop ate alot and later that evening we rode our quad to the other pub and had another bud light cocktail and a pizza.MMMM it was all good.

Monday we ate a muffin and had a cup of coffee and put eveything in the truck. After we were all packed up we rode our quad to Wild Rock County Park.Small but a quiet park but i wanted to ride more so we rode to Snyder County Park. After we got there everything look very familiar,i remember riding through there with Daena.Tracie smoked a cigarette and we took off and less that a mile down the trail it started raining. It rained all the way back to the truck and we didn't stop once.Flew into the camp ground, loaded up quad and headed home.We just got into Wood County when they announced on the radio that there was a severe thunder storm warning for Jackson and Clark Counties.Luck we got out of there when we did.We rode 54 miles on Monday.

That's my vacation story. We liked it so much that Tracie mentioned on going again. We are thinking about the end of September if anyone is interested in joining us.I would like to go a little farther than Osseo next time.

Pictures will be coming soon.
