Tree Cutting

Yesterday i thought of going to Russel's place and cutting a tree for a couple corner post.Said screw it and cut one in the back yard.As i loaded them up and was going to drop them in position ,the neighbor came over to see what i was doing.

We got looking at things and i mentioned that i wanted to cut one tree down and he said this other tree should go down too cause it was leaning towards the house. He went home to get more chains and i got Dads 450 Farmall tractor into position. We did a little more looking and talking and Dave said"screw it,let's just do it"We got the ladder out and put the chain up high on the tree and hooked it up to the tractor. We pulled the tree in a couple positions and decided on one.Dave cut the tree about 4 inches and i could feel the clutch getting soft so i let it out all the way and the tree fell where we wanted it to but it took the tree i was going to cut with it.Roots and all.We missed the house but took a feel limbs off the pine trees.Success

We trimmed the trees up a little and with the one tree almost uprooted we decided to pull it out the rest of the way.I had a cherry tree that looked terrible so that got cut also. With a few tugs and a few chops with the ax the tree and roots come right out of the ground.

Check out my website for pictures I also have a few most recent pictures of our puppies.

I got both trees cut up yesterday and got one tree split and stacked.I ran into a couple blocks that took a quite a few swings to get split and i ran out of gas other wise i would of had it all done.Little sore today but a cure for that is to got out and swing the maul some more.Tracie piled a little brush but i still have a shit load of brush to pile.
