Why is it,something so simple ends up to be a real pain in the ass?

I have this sled that you can hook up to your snowmobile or your atv and pull it around.I used to pull it eveywhere with my old Rupp.The guys used to get a big kick out of it.
Anyways-i had a milk crate bolted to the inside and i wanted to take the 2 bolts out and remove the crate,wrong couldn't hold the one side with the screwdriver,couldn't get vice grips on it either.What to do?Hmmm-i got it,take the grinder and grind the nut off.Did that and still couldn't get the washer off.Grind some more,and still nothing.finally ended up pounding the washer through the plywood i have bolted to the bottom of the sled.A one minute job turned into a half hour job.

The snow is too deep to pull my wood trailer around so decided to use my little sled to bring wood to the house.
By the end of this week i will have used up 10 face cord of wood i had piled by my wood furnace and i am not sure it will make it to Sunday.No good oak left in this pile.
