I got my new monitor Wednesday evening.Only thing is , i went to Staples to buy the monitor cable and i am not sure if it is the right one.It said on the package for 17" and smaller and i asked the guy working there if it would work and he said"yes" but he didn't know what the draw backs would be.Yes it does work but it only shows 17" on my monitor.I guess it is ok but it would be a little better if it would go out where it should.
I was hoping i could get some digital channels but my antenna is "F" up and the booster is only vhf
I had other plans for my pop can collection but i think the money i get from that will go for a new antenna,booster and to pay someone with some balls to climb the tower to install it all.I tried and only got 4 feet off the roof,Tracie climbed all the way up but then said"no what do i do?"I told her if she didn't know what to do,then get down.

Um, that's nothing to do with the cable.
Change the screen size settings on your TV/monitor menu. Since it's a wide screen, it probably won't be able to show the computer screen all the way out to the sides anyway (it's not the same aspect ratio as the computer output), unless it crops the top and bottom off (which probably won't look right for you).
