WINDS WILL BE ON THE INCREASE THIS MORNING IN THE WAKE OF THE
COLD FRONT WHICH WILL BE INTO CENTRAL WISCONSIN BY MID-MORNING. TEMPERATURES
WILL BE IN A FREE FALL THIS MORNING AND AFTERNOON...FALLING AT THE
RATE OF 3 TO 5 DEGREES AN HOUR. WIND GUSTS TO 45 MPH WILL BE
POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY IN THE AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING WHEN THE
WINDS WILL BE THE STRONGEST...AND ESPECIALLY IN WIND PRONE AREAS
AND HIGHER TERRAIN. SNOW WILL OVER NEBRASKA AND IOWA THIS MORNING
WILL SPREAD INTO THE AREA DURING THE MORNING HOURS WEST OF THE
MISSISSIPPI RIVER...AND MOVE ACROSS THE ENTIRE AREA INTO THE
AFTERNOON HOURS...ENDING FROM WEST TO EAST FROM THE LATE AFTERNOON
INTO THE EARLY EVENING. WHILE LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS ARE
FORECAST...MAINLY 1 TO 4 INCHES...THIS SHOULD BE ENOUGH SNOW TO
COMBINE WITH THE STRONG WINDS TO CAUSE NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS IN
OPEN AREAS...ESPECIALLY SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA AND NORTHEAST IOWA
WHERE WINDS TYPICALLY BLOW THE STRONGEST. SHOULD WIDESPREAD
WHITEOUT CONDITIONS DEVELOP OVER PORTIONS OF THE AREA TODAY OR
THIS EVENING...A LOCALIZED UPGRADE TO A BLIZZARD WARNING MAY BE
REQUIRED.
