Fire resistant rope

I did a lot of talking about putting on a new fire resistant rope on the door of my outdoor wood furnace and today i finally did the dirty deed.I thought i would get by cheap but i cut out a small piece and took it to Ace .After a phone call and 23 dollars later i was able to put in on.I had a hell of a time cleaning the channel and my hands kept cramping while i tried to squeeze the sealant tube but actually it was pretty simple.

I guess time will tell(maybe tonight)to see if it boils over tonight. It was getting pretty bad.We had to add water 2 or 3 times a day.

Lady at work has the same wood furnace i have and hers is 15 years old and i believe at 10 years she was having a problem similar to mine with it boiling over and they ended up changing her entire door.Hope i don't have that problem

This coming weekend i am going over to Russell's and getting the wood stove he has of my dads.It will get me by until i can get my garage set up with my wood boiler.

Yes, hopefully the new gasket will cure your problem. Unky had a door warp and had to be replaced on one of his boilers. Cross your fingers that you don't need one too.

Where is the stove that you did have in the garage? Did you sell it, like you were thinking about?

Called Russell the other day and he said Paul already got a wood stove.

So far i haven't added water. It's been a couple days and it seems to be ok.Now when i open the door it is all smoke. Before when i opened the door it was all coals and burning like hell.

Now that i am talking about it i better go out and fill the wood stove with wood.

Great! Sounds like you might have fixed the problem.
