MMMM corn on the cob.

Tuesday i changed the oil on Tracie's car but Pamida didn't have a filter(go figure right)so on my way to work this morning i noticed my car loosing oil pressure. The gauge was going down to nothing so i bought a new filter.I put it on after i got home from work and thought i should take it for a drive.

I went to town to get some noodles for mac and cheese made with Velveeta cheese and i stopped at Cenex where they were selling vegetables and i bought some sweet corn. For supper we have mac & cheese, salisbury steaks and SWEET CORN.It is so good and it melts in your mouth.I got enough for me to eat tomorrow too.

I got looking at my garden and i have watermelon almost the size of a volleyball.Anyone have and idea on when they are ready to pick?

Why was it losing pressure?

I don't know how to tell if your melon is ripe (I let the grocer decide that for me!), but I was reading somewhere that a college was inventing a mechanical melon thumper that measures the pitch of the sound from the melons!

I heard the other day from someone who grown melons and they said to pick out the melon that has the most yellow on the bottom where it sets on the ground.I am going to wait and try that method.
